GREAT discussion. A book i often pick up as a source is Trilateralism, by Holly Sklar, 1980. And there's a full chapter on Trilateral plans for .... the Caribbean. 44 years later, and the show continues.
Regarding resistance to the 4IR. I think a success for 4IR is pretty much an impossibility, given the very real growing shortages in supplies of energy sources and of critical raw materials, including a bunch which would be essential in terms of creating even the pretense of "alternative" energy generation. This does not mean the global elites will not try to impose 4IR, even if this means the destruction of human society and the ability of the planet to support life. That's a key reason why we must resist them.
Also jesse at the very top of the power pyramid are these very old elite families who have ancient roots going into antiquity. their main base is europe but their reach is global. all these oligarchs are puppets of larger interests.
